Innovative solutions in structural timber in the current Galician architecture

A few weeks ago was presented in Santiago de Compostela the Guide “Innovative solutions in structural timber in the current Galician architecture”, which aims to disseminate the possibilities of structural timber in the field of building construction.

The book is the result of collaboration between the Xunta de Galicia, the Plataforma de Ingeniería de Madera Estructural (Pemade) and the University of Santiago de Compostela.

It contains 21 works, both new and refurbishment, both equipment and services as well as private or public residential buildings in the four Galician provinces, built with structural timber in the last five years and that have been recognized for their architectural quality.

Among the 21 selected works there are 3 in which the structural design has been developed by Mecanismo Ingeniería: Mirador de A Cova, Casa Cachóns and Casa do Olvido.
