Operational Unit Bases (BUOs) by MOLAquitectura

Operational Unit Bases (BUOs) are facilities dedicated to protecting Galicia’s forests. These spaces accommodate forest protection services and are designed as meeting and coordination points for the different stakeholders involved in wildfire prevention and suppression.
Several BUOs designed by MOLAquitectura, in which Mecanismo Ingeniería participated as structural engineering consultant, have been featured in issue 354 of AITIM magazine as part of the selection of the best projects from the 2025 AMAD Awards (II).
We are sharing a few images from the publication and from the Mondoñedo BUO project, a development in which architecture, structure and timber construction come together to meet the project’s functional and territorial requirements.
