The restoration project of the Puerta de Alcalá involved a comprehensive intervention aimed at structurally consolidating the sculptural groups and ensuring their long-term preservation. The work included cleaning and repairing the metal anchors, removing clamps that had lost their function, stitching loose elements, eliminating mortars applied during previous interventions, and sealing the new joints.

Additionally, the roof was dismantled to remove accumulated moisture that had affected the supporting materials and to restore the anchors of the sculptures. The slopes were redefined, and a new ventilated lead roof was installed to prevent the pathological processes that had deteriorated the sculptural groups due to the previous roofing system.

Finally, an integral treatment was carried out on the granite surfaces and their reliefs to halt deterioration. The connections of the sculptural elements on the façades were reinforced, degrading materials were removed, and a protective treatment was applied to safeguard the stone against future environmental damage.
