SFJ6 is a project of 102 housing units designed to adapt to the complexity of the city, addressing various urban challenges and generating high-quality public spaces in its surroundings. The building integrates into the urban fabric as a folded volume that embraces the disparate existing constructions, paying special attention to the areas of contact and adapting its ground floor to the site’s complex topography in order to maximize its connection points with the city and revitalize the public space.
The folding of its façade, the variation in heights, and the setback of the top two floors contribute to urban diversity. Furthermore, by unifying the window openings—making them appear larger than they actually are—the perceptual scale of the whole is reduced, achieving a friendlier, more human scale.
