MANGO Headquarters complex in Barcelona

Mecanismo Ingeniería has participated as Structural Consultants in the development of the execution project and technical assistance during the construction phase of the MANGO Headquarters complex in Barcelona. This project, designed by COTECNO Arquitectura e Ingeniería, has involved significant structural challenges.

On one hand, 21.25-metre spans have been achieved across three consecutive floors, supporting high design loads by employing 80 cm deep lightened post-tensioned beams. These allowed for a significant reduction in self-weight through the use of the HOLEDECK system.

On the other hand, a large 21×21 metre open-span space, which houses the complex’s main auditorium, was formed through a grillage system, also using 65 cm deep post-tensioned beams in both directions.

The building also incorporates other structural systems made of reinforced concrete, steel, composite steel-deck slabs, and CLT floors.

The images we are sharing below show the progress of the structural development during the construction process.
